§ 5.1. Appointments.

  • The town council shall appoint a town clerk, a chief of police, a town attorney and a town treasurer and may appoint such other officers of the town as they deem necessary. Each and every officer appointed under this section shall be directly responsible to the town council, mayor, town manager, and/or town clerk as the town council may from time to time determine by appropriate resolution and/or ordinance. Such officers shall perform such duties as are required by general law, as well as such additional duties not inconsistent with general law as this Charter or the council may prescribe.
