§ 46-2. Pruning of trees overhanging streets.

  • Any telephone, telegraph or electric light and power company having the right to use the streets and highways of the town shall, and they are hereby given the right to, prune or cut off limbs of trees on property abutting on such streets and highways and which overhang such streets and highways in such way as to interfere with or injure the operations of the lines or wires of such companies; provided, however, that this section does not authorize such companies, or give them the right, to wantonly injure any tree, nor does it give the right to such companies to cut or injure any limb or tree not overhanging a street or highway, or any that may overhang them but which does not interfere with the operation of the lines of such company.
